We're entering another week into this COVID-19 shut down. I live in California, The Bay Area to be exact! And we have been on this shut down since March 16th. I hope and pray that all of you are doing your part in boosting your immune system, washing your hand & also helping out those who are having a harder time with the basic necessities. Oh, and by the way. My name is Danita Shari & I am the creator of Owned Wellness.
My focused here is to encourage selfcare practices as I learn with my readers. I hope you all find this part of my blog useful, and any topics that are wanted to be discussed; please do not hesitate to ask. Also, follow OW. on our social platforms
How I've been holding up .
The first few days of quarantine were extremely stressful, because I spent so much of my time watching the news and staying on social media which was the worst idea. I was cleaning non-stop ( literally ) I wasn't focusing on anything but making sure my family was okay. My anxiety was through the roof! I wasn't sleeping because I couldn't remember if I wipe down the light switch good enough, this virus was taking over my mental. I then realized after seeing a post on @mybrownbox and having my mom check me ( lmao shout out to her ) that I was giving this thing too much of my energy.
The next few days, I started going back to my old routine. Waking up and mediating / giving thanks, not turning on the news until the afternoon, staying off of social media for the first 2 hours of waking up, practicing yoga again, taking a shower and listening to powerful messages. These things might seem little but; do so much for me every morning. Focusing your energy on things that matter the most in the present will give you the power you need to keep going forward.
Learn to be cautious but don't allow things to take over you.
Thank you for stopping by.
