Oh' Rihanna ... Fenty Skin Care !?
When I heard that Rihanna was coming out with a skincare line I was beyond excited! Not only do I love Rihanna for her philanthropy, but I am a huge skincare junky. I love everything from a good serum to an SPF.
On July 31st 2020, I was able to make a purchase with her exclusive email signing up early launch. It took me about 30 minutes to check out which I already expected there to be so many people on her website. I ordered the TOTAL CLEANS'R ( cute name ) which is a 2-in-1 daily cleanser that retails for $25.
The Total Cleans'r is considered clean, vegan and gluten free. Made with many natural ingredients, the two that stuck out the most for me were the; Fig for its rich antioxidants and Ginkgo biloba for its healing properties.
While waiting on my order to come, I watched a few YouTube reviews on this line and for the most part many people were pointing out how hydrating the product was. But, the smell of the cleanser wasn't pleasing. I was extremely nervous to try this cleanser after reviewing those videos because I have a very sensitize nose and super strong smells give me a major headache.
I love this product! I barely smelled any fragrance in it. The lather of this cleanser is amazing and my face feels clean, hydrated and not striped after using it. The packaging of this item is a twist and squeeze which is easy and convenient when washing my face.
Please Note : I haven't removed any make up with this product yet! But, I'm excited to see if It holds up to the challenge. I am a double cleanser. So; I'll test it out with just one pass on my Instagram story this week and let you all know what I think. ( @_Imdanita ) I'll rate it 9/10
I also was able to purchase her HYDRA VIZOR INVISIBLE MOISTURIZER + SPF 30 which retails for $35. One thing I love about this product is the consistence of it. Very smooth, melts into my skin very well without leaving a white case (As a Black women that is a problem with many different sunscreens). It's not greasy, but has a slight shine to it.
This moisturizer is made of Niacinamide which is a form of vitamin B3 ( Vitamin B3 is known for texture smoothing ) Hyaluronic acid / aloe, Baobab and Kalahari which is a wild watermelon that has many antioxidants and vitamins ( according to Fentyskin.com ). The Kalahari is what I believe gives off a fruity and sweet smell in this product. Unlike the cleans'r, I can actually smell the fragrance in this product which I'm not 100% mad about! But, I can see why other people aren't feeling the smell in this moisturizer. Overall it does what it's supposed to do. I would rate this product a 7/10 because I had higher expectations for this moisturizer; Although I like it, I'm still on the fence about it and will keep on trying it out before I decide to add it completely into my full skincare routine or not.
As far as the FAT WATER PORE-REFINING TONER SERUM I wasn't In a rush to get it. I wanted to do some more research before purchasing that product. ( I'll update you all on my Instagram when I do )
Overall I like the products and would recommend you try them out for yourself. The appearance of my skin looks great after using both products and I would suggest sticking to a basic routine when you're first trying them out. I have't experienced any purging and my skin feels very hydrated. I'm excited to see if I notice any brightening within the next two weeks since both products have many vitamins like vitamin c in them.
These are my own and true thoughts about Fenty skin and I wanted to share this exciting new line on danitashari.com because this is a space for all things self care, design and lifestyle. Congratulations to Rihanna on yet, another accomplishment.
Thank you for reading.
